Choose the course before choosing the CUET papers
The National Testing Agency conducts the Common University Entrance Test for undergraduate admissions. Some participating institutions list hotel management programmes. Participation alone does not establish that every hospitality course there uses CUET.
Start with the exact course name in the official programme mapping. Match its eligibility and required papers to your application. Then follow that university's admission notices after the NTA result. This route sits alongside NCHM JEE for participating IHMs; use our hotel management entrance exam hub to compare them.
Examples confirmed in the official 2026 mappings
Central University of Rajasthan: the NTA mapping lists the four-year Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology with the General Aptitude Test. Its published qualification is 10+2 with at least 50% from a recognised board, or 45% for SC, ST, OBC, PWD and EWS candidates, with English as a medium of instruction.
HNB Garhwal University: the Bachelor of Hotel Management is mapped to the General Aptitude Test. The 2026 mapping requires 10+2 or equivalent with at least 45% aggregate or equivalent grade for the general category. It leaves reserved category relaxation to the applicable government and university rules and states that merit is based on the CUET UG score.
CT University, Ludhiana: the mapping lists B.Sc. Hotel Management and Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (Hons.). It gives 10+2 in any stream, compulsory English and at least 50%. Its paper field reads “General Aptitude Test/ ENGLISH”. Confirm how that slash is applied in the current admission notice before choosing papers.
These are verified examples, not a complete list or a promise that the same combinations will continue in 2027. Course names, paper requirements and admission notices must match for your chosen cycle.
NTA eligibility and course eligibility are different checks
The 2026 NTA bulletin allows candidates who have passed Class 12 or an equivalent examination, or are appearing in 2026, to take CUET UG. It sets no age limit for appearing in the examination, while requiring candidates to satisfy any age criteria imposed by their chosen university.
A course may still require a particular qualifying percentage, subject or language condition. Check your marks, category documents and course conditions. Permission to take CUET does not establish degree eligibility.
The published CUET UG 2026 format
CUET UG 2026 uses computer-based multiple-choice tests. Each test paper has 50 compulsory questions and a duration of 60 minutes. A correct answer earns five marks; an incorrect answer loses one mark. The bulletin permits a maximum of five subjects, including languages and the General Aptitude Test, with choices governed by the desired programme's eligibility.
The duration applies to each paper, not automatically to a student's entire examination schedule. Similarly, the maximum subject allowance does not mean every hospitality applicant needs all those papers. The course mapping determines what should go into your application and preparation plan.
A CUET score needs a university application
Read the NTA bulletin and current course mapping before submitting the CUET form. Select the required papers carefully, complete the application and follow NTA instructions for the admit card and examination. After the result, check the chosen university's registration or counselling notice and meet its own deadline.
The NTA bulletin places admission with the participating institutions. A score does not by itself confirm a seat. Follow the institution's merit list, document verification and admission instructions. Keep the exact degree name beside each application; hospital management and hospitality management are different fields.
How we would build a focused preparation plan
This is AptiGuide coaching guidance, not an NTA study schedule. Finalise the course shortlist first. Where the confirmed mapping requires the General Aptitude Test, use its current official syllabus to choose your reasoning, numerical ability and general awareness practice. Add language preparation when the selected course requires a language paper.
Work on comprehension by explaining why an option follows from the passage. For numerical and reasoning practice, write down the method before moving to timed sets. Review errors by cause and repair the weak concept. Keep current affairs notes concise for revision alongside schoolwork.
Use practice that reflects the published paper duration and negative marking. Practise moving past a difficult question and returning later. If you are also preparing for NCHM JEE, share work on overlapping skills but keep the official syllabuses and attempt strategies separate.
Check the next cycle before applying

The course examples come from the official mappings for Central University of Rajasthan, HNB Garhwal University and CT University.
