What is MICAT?
MICAT is the MICA Admission Test, a computer-based test conducted by MICA, Ahmedabad. For PGDM and PGDM-C, MICA lists MICAT alongside CAT, XAT or GMAT in its application process.
If you are considering MICA, check its official admissions page for your chosen programme.
Read the official sample
The official sample covers Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation, Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension, and Divergent and Convergent Thinking.
It does not show a General Awareness section or specify a total question count or test duration. The sample says short-answer Quantitative Ability questions carry no negative marking.
Read MICA’s sample questions for 2027. Treat this as an illustration, not a complete paper specification; check the official notice for the current cycle.
Descriptive and psychometric components
MICA includes descriptive and psychometric components. The sample illustrates arguments and picture-based stories; its psychometric note says responses have no right or wrong answer and no negative marking.
Read the prompt carefully and practise typing a clear response. Answer personal statements honestly.
How to prepare
- For Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation, revise arithmetic and practise explaining the steps behind an answer.
- Read varied passages, summarise the argument and review why each wrong verbal option fails.
- Practise word associations and explain the link between words to develop flexible thinking.
- Write arguments from different viewpoints and build a story from a picture sequence.
- After a practice attempt, keep an error log and revisit weak areas before your next mock.
