UPES separates the published cycle from the next announcement
The scholarship page checked on 15 October 2026 contains an AY 2026-27 policy and says AY 2027-28 details will be announced soon. Some page metadata still names an older year. This guide uses the cycle stated in the policy body and keeps the next-cycle limitation visible. An application marked 2027 does not activate the earlier scholarship grid for a new applicant.
UPES describes support based on school results, national examinations, postgraduate qualifications, domicile and other circumstances. The tables below identify the relevant route. They are not a promise that every qualifying applicant receives funding or that separate concessions can be accumulated. First establish the programme, delivery pathway and intake, then ask which policy governs your application.

Board merit and national examinations
The undergraduate board-merit tables distinguish applicant categories and use overall Class 12 marks. The national-examination schedule separately names JEE, CUET and CLAT rank. An examination percentile is not the same as a school percentage. Read each threshold under its own column and keep your scorecard available when asking for an assessment.
The retrieved national-examination conditions apply to current-year 2026 results for the published cycle, with exclusions including three-year LLB and Global Pathway programmes. They describe first-year tuition support and require the acceptance payment within the offer's deadline. A valid score alone therefore does not settle the award. Programme type, timing and document submission all matter.
Registration timing can determine whether a claim is considered
For national-examination support, the policy requires the scholarship option and documents before registration is completed. It says later requests for a grant or revision will not be entertained after registration. Students with a pending result should ask how that is handled before registering. Do not assume a score can simply be added to the account afterwards.
The conditions also address movement between regular and Global Pathway programmes. A change of pathway can reverse or remove eligibility under specified routes. If you are considering an overseas-linked option, obtain a fresh award decision for that exact pathway. A concession attached to a regular domestic course should not be carried into a different programme without approval.
MBA support has a separate academic basis
The MBA table lists graduation, NMAT and CAT-based routes. Its first-year tuition wording should be retained alongside the percentages. The additional MBA Core entry has its own condition and distribution note, so it should not be merged into a generic MBA award. Ask admissions to identify the applicable line and the semesters in which the benefit will appear.
The retrieved MBA conditions exclude Global Pathway programmes, describe limited availability and state that the first-year award is not renewed as an entry scholarship. A family comparing postgraduate options should request the payment schedule after approval, not simply deduct a headline percentage from every year. Eligibility for admission, a scholarship assessment and a payment due date remain separate decisions.
Domicile and other concessions need their own documents
UPES publishes a domicile route and additional categories on the scholarship page. The relevant status must be demonstrated; attending school in a region does not by itself prove every domicile requirement. Ask for the exact certificate and programme restrictions before using a concession in a budget. This guide has not assigned domicile status to a reader on the basis of their address.
Where the policy says only one scholarship or concession applies, the highest applicable award is used rather than both. That restriction includes the stated relationship with domicile support. Submit all relevant evidence and request the institution's decision on which route applies. Adding two percentages together would produce an unsupported net-fee claim.
A special application notice can override general availability assumptions
The admission-alerts page describes Jyoti merit-cum-need support and Vijay sports support, but also states that their application deadlines have passed and benefits are no longer available under those notices. Those closures are retained here as a warning against treating a general scheme description as an open window. The retrieved text does not provide a new 2027 reopening date.
For any future announcement, ask what evidence is required, which academic cycle it covers and whether a new application must be made. A need-based route may request income evidence, while a sports route may require current achievement and participation documents. Do not send sensitive records to an old contact simply because it appears in an earlier notice; confirm the current submission instructions first.
Continuation and the cost that remains
The page includes continuation and performance-related support with its own conditions. A first-year entry scholarship should not be described as automatically renewed for the course. Ask about the relevant semester, academic performance, committee decision and consequences of a programme change. Keep the award letter, policy version and fee statement so that any later review uses the same basis.
The fee guide shows published semester components for 2026-27. A tuition-only award does not automatically cover academic-service charges, refundable deposits, residence or meals. Request the itemised amount payable after an award is approved. UPES's separate other-fees page carries older-year wording, so a future applicant needs a current supplementary schedule rather than combining different years into one quotation.
Preparing your enquiry
Share the course, regular or Global Pathway status, intended intake and the result or status on which you want support assessed. Ask whether the policy is open, when documents must be filed and how the award will be communicated. AptiGuide can help you organise those questions before you apply. UPES makes the admission and scholarship decision, and the 2027-28 policy remains an explicit item to confirm.
